Wedge-slot laptops wobble with a standard lock, or won't accept one at all.

The Kensington Slim N17 2.0 is engineered specifically for wedge-shaped security slots, so ultra-thin devices lie flat and stable while locked, backed by 5mm anti-pick keying and a 5-year warranty.

Kensington Slim N17 2.0 Keyed Laptop Lock

Built for the Wedge-Shaped Slot

The slim lock head is purpose-built for wedge-shaped security slots on ultra-thin laptops, letting the laptop lie completely flat with no wobble.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my laptop has a wedge slot?

Wedge slots taper narrower at one end rather than being a uniform rectangle; many ultra-thin Dell Latitude and XPS models use this shape, check your laptop manual if unsure.

What happens if I lose both keys?

Register your lock's serial number with Kensington's free Register and Retrieve program for a replacement key or combination.

Does the lock block any of my laptop's ports?

The omnidirectional pivoting head lets you angle the cable away from adjacent ports, keeping them accessible.

Can this be used with a standard rectangular slot laptop?

No, this lock is shaped specifically for wedge slots; see our Kensington Slim Combination Laptop Lock for standard rectangular slots instead.

What's the difference between a wedge-slot lock and a standard laptop lock?

A wedge-slot lock head is tapered to match the narrower, angled security slot found on many ultra-thin laptops, while a standard lock head is sized for the wider rectangular slot on thicker laptops, the two are not interchangeable.
