The Fees on Top of the Price
- State e-file: $25 per state. Federal e-file is free for up to five returns, but e-filing a state return costs extra. Printing and mailing your state return avoids the fee.
- Extra states: $45 each ($55 for Business). Only matters if you lived or worked in more than one state.
